Conrad's Story

Neuroblastoma

No Evidence of Disease

Conrad was diagnosed with neuroblastoma (cancer that develops from immature nerve cells found in several areas of the body) in November 2017 during a routine well-baby checkup when he was just 9 weeks old. Surgeons at Seattle Children’s Hospital removed a tumor the size of an adult fist from his abdomen 10 days later. Conrad just celebrated one year of clear scans in December 2018 and remains “NED” (no evidence of disease).

We know how blessed we are to have our wild one year old with us every single day, and he’s proud to pat his “shark bite” a.k.a. surgery scar if you ask him what’s on his belly. Conrad will continue to have scans until he is 3 years old; if his cancer has not relapsed in that time, his doctors feel confident in saying that it will most likely never return.
